Bombers Bit Full Cheek Happy Tongue
The Bombers Bit Full Cheek Happy Tongue is a solid ported mouth piece that allows for less pressure on the horses tongue. Dressage Legal for both FEI and British Dressage. It is shaped and ported to give tongue relief. The Full Cheek Happy Tongue mouth piece be a good place to start if your horse can be doing some of the following;
Shaking its head when pressure is applied to the reins.
Sticking its tongue out.
Trying to put its tongue over the bit to relieve the pressure.
Going behind the bit to avoid the contact.
Snatching the reins forward and down.
The rider will know immediately if this is the correct bit, as a horse with a sensitive tongue will finally begin to work into, and accept the contact. Changing the cheek pieces would then allow the rider to adjust the level of control.
The Bombers range of Fulmer or Full Cheek bits will have the same effect as the traditional Eggbutt, in so much that it will prevent pinching on the sides of the mouth. However the extended pins above and below the bit, firstly prevent the bit being pulled through the mouth and secondly have the effect of guiding the horses head which is great for schooling and training purposes.
All the Bombers bits are made from original sweet iron. Great points to remember are the following. The metal of the sweet iron oxidizes easily. This encourages salivation and as a result will help with bit acceptance. The metal is warm and sweet to taste foe the horse. Please note the blue will fade with use and once the bit has come in contact with moisture.
